It’s not the most reassuring message to receive when you’re trying to contact your hospital. A big nasty 404 =)
And just for those who don’t know what a 404 is (I wasn’t too sure either, heh). Here’s a grab from trusty ole’ Wikipedia to tell us more about the HTTP 404:
The 404 or Not Found error message is an HTTP standard response code indicating that the client was able to communicate with the server but the server could not find what was requested. 404 errors should not be confused with “server not found” or similar errors, in which a connection to the destination server could not be made at all. Another similar error is “410: Gone”, which indicates that the requested resource has been intentionally removed and will not be available again. A 404 error indicates that the requested resource may be available in the future.
I hope that they get this resolved soon, because I need to find out their contact number!

Ok, I thought I had it bad here in the Netherlands… But I couldn't even start to guess what those characters mean! Which makes me wonder: is it hard to get around China if you don't speak the language? What do you do about government forms? I run most of our stuff though Babelfish or Google Translate, but what a pain it would be to have to type in these characters from a snail mail letter.
Honestly it's pretty hard to- get around. I was fortunate enough to have 'some' background in Chinese when I was younger while I was growing up in Singapore; but then again, I guess it depends. It's possible, on a good enough salary, to live an 'expat' lifestyle, and never even realize that you've left western civilization.
Unfortunately (fortunately?) that's not me, and I have to assimilate into the culture and attempt to live frugally =p.
Government forms and such are always fun- I have a writing-input dictionary that I carry around with me, and I'm able to get through documents… slowly =p. Or if I'm speaking directly to people, it usually turns into a strange game of charades; haha.
