Hong Kong Visa Run Recap: Food

I‘m back from Hong Kong! (Well, I was back on Thursday evening); it was a busy trip, but I got all my documents sorted out, and I also had a good time with my mom, who flew over from Singapore to accompany me.

So, I’ve been kind of procrastinating on updating because I’m easily distracted there’s a lot of stuff to catch up on in the SEO/SEM industry; also, I’m sort of trying to re-adjust to Beijing. Culture shock hit hard this time round- I think because when I first came to Beijing I was mentally prepared, since flying from the US to Beijing was big deal; but flying back from Hong Kong, I didn’t really think much of it- until I was back in Beijing taking a cab back to my apartment, and the driver was totally disregarding any sort of traffic rules that you would have in cities with traffic enforcement. Oh Beijing…

Anyhow- so during my Hong Kong excursion I tried to document a couple of things: the food, my surroundings, and a fashion trend that I noticed was quite popular among the men there- man-bags (handbags, get it? anyhow..)

I didn’t manage to capture everything that I enjoyed while I was in Hong Kong, partly because at the beginning of the trip I kinda forgot that I wanted to blog about the food, and would start devouring everything, but also because I started to get really bad back-pains towards the middle of the week from sleeping on the couch at my grandparent’s place, and from carrying around my 1D Mark II N in my backpack (that thing is seriously a beast).

I digress, here we go:
(By the way, I definitely love Hong Kong food so much more than Beijing food. So much more flavor, and there’s more steamed stuff too- Beijing food is just salty and oily; bleh)
