Just a quick update.
I’ve been looking around for a spare NP-E3 battery for my 1D Mark II N since electronics are pretty expensive in Beijing, but I wasn’t able to find any stores carrying it- apparently they only carry accessories for the 1D Mark III now. But, this did force me to look up the official Canon Care Center in Tsim Sha Tsui – and it’s beautiful!
Before, I never would have considered living here in Hong Kong because, “it’s so crowded”, “there are so many people”, “it’s too fast paced”, “people have no manners and are pushing to get everywhere”. But having been in Beijing for about 4-5 months, I’m realizing more and more just how comfortable Hong Kong is, and how civilized it is here! I really need to stay focused and guard my heart! lol
Anyhow, here are some pictures I snapped with my Nokia E71 phone while walking around the Canon Care Center.
I thought it was amusing how they labeled the Canon lenses display case as “The Best System”.
The Canon Care Center in Hong Kong is near the bay area, and they had set of super telephoto lenses for camera addicts to lust over. I was able to try out the closest camera: a 1D Mark III with the Canon 600mm f/4.0L IS. It’s a beast of a setup =p
I was really tempted to get this shirt for $65 HKD (~$8.30 USD), but, unfortunately, I’m not the proud owner of a 1D Mark III =(
Expect further picture updates. I’ve been trying to take pictures of the food here in Hong Kong (though, sometimes I just forget and eat it all before I realize that I wanted to document my meals here.. whoops), and also of the ‘man-bag/man-purse’ fashion trend that seems to be popular here in Hong Kong.

yeah – its pretty funny =) i now realize that i prolly shoulda taken more pics of the whole center- but i was too awestruck at the super telephoto 'play pen' that they had available for us =p
